          Roxithromycin is a prescription antibiotic which belongs to macrolides medications. It kills and stops the bacteria growth, caused by a number of infections.           bullet_ball_blue Skin infections;
          bullet_ball_blue Urinary tract infections.

          Precautions

          Do not start taking Roxithromycin if you have the following conditions:

          You should also remember that the medication was prescribed only for you. Do not share it with others, even if they have similar symptoms.

          Usage Recommendations

          Carefully follow all the recommendations of your doctor. They may be different from those that you can find in the leaflet. If you do not understand some instructions, contact your pharmacist to explain you.

          The recommended dosage for adults is 300 mg once a day. In some cases, you may be indicated to take 150 mg pill twice a day. Your pharmacist can change the dose with time, depending on your current health condition. The recommended dose for children who weigh more than 40 kg is 150 mg two times a day. The dose of the medication given to children will always depend on their weight. It’s not recommended to give the drug to kids with weight less than 40 kg.

          The tablet should be swallowed whole with a full glass of water. Consume it 15 minutes before having a meal or when on an empty stomach. The medication will work better if you take it on an empty stomach. Consume the antibiotic at the same time each day to get better treatment results.

          If you take it for killing infections, the period of treatment should last from 5 to 10 days. However, your healthcare specialist may prescribe the medication for a longer period of time.

          Side Effects

          If you feel bad while taking the drug, call your doctor immediately. It works well by killing infections, but it may also bring a number of side effects. Call your healthcare specialist if you notice the following: oral thrush, loss of appetite, nausea, red skin, vomiting, vaginal thrush, dizziness and tiredness.

          Severe side effects include swollen face, lips, throat and tongue, asthma and persistent diarrhea.

          When feeling better, do not stop taking the antibiotic, until your doctor tells you the opposite. If you do not finish the full length of the treatment course, you may not kill all the bacteria. They may grow with time and the infection can return easily. Do not use the antibiotic to treat other things, unless your healthcare provider tells you. If you get severe diarrhea, even after finishing the treatment, call your pharmacist, as the condition can have a negative influence on your bowels.
