          Basic Coumadin Contraindications

          Before you take this drug, you should your doctor if you have any allergies and such serious conditions as blood disorders, bleeding issues, blood vessel ailments, liver problems, mood and mental disorders, major injuries or surgeries, frequent falls and others. If you often drink alcohol, you’re exposed to an increased risk of stomach bleeding. You should avoid specific activities, including contact sports, and older patients are more sensitive to side effects. Finally, Coumadin shouldn’t be combined with certain medications because of possible drug interactions that can be quite dangerous. Don’t take it together with other blood thinners, aspirin-like meds, NSAIDs and other anti-inflammatory drugs, etc.
